The White Hall Bulldogs pitched a 50-0 shutout over the Little Rock J.A. Fair War Eagles on Friday night.

Starting quarterback Josh Looney sat out as he’s nursing a minor knee injury, which gave Gage Hollowell the chance to start.

“Josh had a bumped up knee,” White Hall Head Coach Mike Vaughn said. “Gage did a great job. The varsity only played about a quarter in a half.”

The Bulldogs used five unanswered first-quarter touchdowns to build an insurmountable lead for the War Eagles to overcome.

The wealth was spread as five different Bulldogs recorded touchdowns that first quarter. Donte Buckner’s three-yard rushing touchdown opened up scoring for the Bulldogs. Running backs Kam Robinson and C.J. Collins then followed up with rushing touchdowns of their own, going for 10 and 26 yards. Adding to the fire, Kolby Drake punched it in from eight yards out for their fourth rushing touchdown.

With about two minutes to play in quarter one, White Hall athlete Tristen Evatt recovered a fumble in the War Eagles’ end zone for a defensive touchdown to put the Bulldogs up 36-0.

At the start of the second quarter, the Bulldogs scored through the air as Hollowell found Baylor Owen for a 52-yard passing touchdown.

The Bulldogs’ defense played lights out, and Evatt had himself a night as he recorded his second touchdown on a five-yard fumble recovery to put the finishing touches on this one.

“The entire group played exceptional,” Vaughn said. “They all played really well. When you shut somebody out like that it has to be an overall effort. So far they’ve played hard every single week.”
